- Hapgood, Norman
- (1868-1937)Like his brother Hutchins Hap-good, Norman Hapgood was born in Chicago and became a journalist and drama critic. However, he was also a socially active lawyer and a considerably more prolific writer. As a journalist, he wrote for New York Commercial Advertiser and The Bookman (1897-1902), then went on to major editorships, including Collier's. His theatre books include The Stage in America (1901) and Why Janet Should Read Shakespeare (1929).
